Students from Nagpur have brought glory to the city with an outstanding national-level perform-ance in the NEET UG-2026 re-examination results, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to medical under-graduate courses. Sagar Karikar secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 67, while Saumya Badole achieved AIR 77, placing both among the country’s top 100 most talented students.
Saumya ranked fourth in the country and third in Maharashtra in the Scheduled Caste (SC) cate-gory, while Sagar secured sixth position in Maharashtra in the
General category. The NEET UG 2026 examination was originally held on May 3. Ноwever, it was cancelled following the question paper leak contro-versy. The NTA subsequently con-ducted the re-examination on June 21. A total of 12,512 students ap-peared for the test across 30 ex-amination centres in Nagpur dis-trict. The results, announced late on Thursday night, once again highlighted the exceptional talent of Nagpur’s students, who achieved remarkable success at the national level.
Apart from Sagar Karikar and Soumya Badole, several other students from Nagpur also secured impressive po-sitions in the national rankings.
They include Ameer Va-rawala (AIR 119), Rishikesh Nagmothe (AIR 201), Shri-nidhi Deshpande (AIR 221), Aditya Somani (AIR 254), Sonish Vairagade (AIR 488), Taksh Motwani (AIR 581), Aryan Idatkar (AIR 643), Atharva Shukla (AIR 820) and Siddhi Wankhede (AIR 848). Their success in the NEET re-examination has once again demonstrated the strength and consistent ex-cellence of Nagpur’s stu-dents in preparing for med-ical education.
