G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur will be holding an industry meet “GHR Connect†on January 27, 2019 with the theme of “Engaging with Millennialsâ€. It is the maiden event promoted by the institution, which will be serving as a platform for networking amongst industry leaders and SMEs near and around Vidarbha region.  The main agenda is to sensitize the industries and various stakeholders about the internship programme of MHRD and its implementation challenges.
Industry in India is facing a unique challenge on terms of manpower and talent pool in context to skills. This skill gap can be removed by providing experience in the industry through internships at various points in the course like 6 weeks and 6 months internship. This has prompted the MHRD and AICTE to formulate internship policy. AICTE has made the internships mandatory for all the engineering college students across India. It has proposed 600-700 hours of Internships and allotted 14-20 credits of the course for the same.
The event will encompass the presence of galaxy of speakers like Dr. Mohit Gambhir, Innovation Director, MHRD Innovation Cell, Government of India, Mr. Arvind Kumar, Centre Head, TCS Nagpur, Mr. R. Muralidharan, CTO, Tata Power SED, Mr. Dhruv Jain, Group CoE, Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0, Aditya Birla Group, Mr. Prasad Deore, Regional Head NASSCOM, Mr. Nikhil Malhotra, Head of Maker’s lab, Tech Mahindra and Mr. Umesh Ganjale, Location and Fresher Training Head, Tech Mahindra. In addition, 100 plus industry leaders will be attending the meet.
To acknowledge the best practices in industry Institute Internship programs, several awards will be given on the same day of event to industries connected with the institute in different domains related to internship like GHR Award for Promoting School Education, GHR Award for Internship Champion Private Sector, GHR Award for Best CSR, etc.
Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Director of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering has urged the industry leaders and Principals/Directors/Decision Makers/ Deans of academic institutions to actively participate in this meet. There is no registration fee for the event however there are limited seats.
