Pipe & Drum Band of Bhonsala Military School, Nagpur bagged the first prize while the Brass Band won the second Prize in the Inter School Band Competition organized by Krida Bharti at Reshimbagh ground, recently.
Competing against the bands fielded by eight schools’ of the Vidarbha region shortlisted after competitions held at city level, the Pipe & Drum Band of Bhonsala Military School, Nagpur regaled the audience with number of martial music tunes viz ‘Valley of the Green’, ‘100 pipers’, ‘Janani Janma Bhoomi’, ‘Deshon ka Sartaj Bharat’ and ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’ besides presenting the ‘Drummers Call’.
Likewise, the Brass Band played a mix of martial and traditional Indian tunes of ‘Scout’, ‘Marne’, ‘Kedar’, ‘Jayastute’ and Chetak. The bands were led by Cadet Prasad Khandekar and Cadet Shailesh Chandra respectively. It is pertinent to mention that the school has bagged this coveted trophy for the second consecutive year.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Mohanji Bhagwat, Sarsanghachalak Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh while giving away the trophies lauded the efforts of all the teams. He asked participants to give their 100% in every competition that one participates in life. He stressed upon the teamwork in winning the competition. Maj. Gen. Achyut Dev (Retd), Dr. Anil Karwande, Krida Bharti Vidarbha President and social activist, Sharad Bagdi were prominently present on stage.
The school management, Commandant and staff congratulated the Band Instructor Sub Roshanlal Bhagat, Ashutosh Kshirsagar and his team and the cadets on their performance.
