‘CrescendoXX – Extra Peace Extra Love’, an inter-collegiate mega youth festival was inaugurated at the sprawling campus of Tirpude Institute of Management Education (TIME), on Thursday, January 31. TIME, a leading management institute in Central India, has been successfully organizing this event for the past several years and this edition of the biggest youth festival of central India assumes significance in view of the institute celebrating its silver jubilee year.
Each year, the institute tries to convey a socially important message to the student community by weaving a theme in this mega festival. With an objective of spreading peace and love among Nagpur youth, the theme chosen for this 20th edition is ‘CrescendoXX – Extra Peace Extra Love’. The title sponsors are Amazing Blazing Cakes and the event is co-sponsored by Caliber’s Nova.
Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was Dr. Niraj Khati, Director, Board of Examinations and Evaluation, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Guests of Honour were Mr. Swaroop Chawla, Founder, Amazing Blazing Cakes and Mr. Salim Ansari, Co-founder, Caliber’s Nova. The function began with welcoming of the dignitaries and lighting of traditional lamp at their hands. In his inaugural address, Dr. Khati congratulated the college students for organizing this event and stated that such events are powerful sources of bringing together the youth for channelizing their energy appropriately.
Mr. Salim Ansari expressed happiness on his association with Tirpude Institute and mentioned that Crescendo is the best platform for youth to demonstrate their talent. Present on the dais were Ms. Ghana Tirpude, Member, Yugantar Education Society, Dr. Lalit Khullar, Director, TIME and Dr. Sanjay Kavishwar, Dean-Academics, TIME. Prof. Saranbir Uppal, Co-in charge, CrescendoXX, gave a brief outline of this 4-day cultural and sports extravaganza, which provides the youth in and around Nagpur an opportunity to showcase their talents and she appreciated the students of various committees for working relentlessly. She further stated that the college follows a corporate structure for organizing this event and that the entire event is managed by students themselves, under the guidance of faculty members. Satyam Agrawal, CEO-CrescendoXX, explained the significance of the chosen theme and urged the gathered students of various colleges to participate in and enjoy all the events that are a part of Crescendo XX. The programme has generated an overwhelming response from the student community and around 140 colleges and institutions have participated this year in CrescendoXX-Extra Peace Extra Love, under various events.
Earlier during the day, elimination rounds of many competitions under sports: cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, chess, arm-wrestling, carom, kabaddi, tug-of- war, LAN gaming, remote car racing, rider mania & PUBG and those under cultural: film & photography, quiz, treasure hunt, singing, ad-making, personality contest and dare to win were conducted. The sports arena was graced by celebrities Shubham Palkar of Pro-Kabaddi fame and Ashok Munne, who is Mt. Everest base camper, an avid rider, motivational speaker and has a soon-to-be-released biopic to his credit, wherein his character is portrayed by Bollywood hero, Akshay Kumar. The evening was reserved for more appealing cultural events under dance and fashion show.
Faculty members, non-teaching staff and an overwhelming crowd of enthusiastic young students were present on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Prof. Rohan Job and vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Saranbir Uppal.
