Darshan Colony garden dedicated to public
The city is expanding due to which there is no place for the senior citizens to walk and place for the children to play. Gardens of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) are the only respite for the people. The NMC is committed to develop gardens in the city, said Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar. He was speaking after inaugurating a garden developed by NMC at Darshan Colony in Nandanvan.
Leader of Opposition; Tanaji Vanve, MLC Sunil Kedar, Pratod Divya Dhurde, BSP party leader Mohammed Jamal, former MLA Gev Awari, former minister Dr Nitin Raut, former minister Anees Ahmed, former MLA Ashok Dhawad, corporators Kamlesh Choudhary, Manisha Kothe, Samita Chakole, Aaysha Ansari, former corporator Malu Vanve, Kamal Gajbhiye, Krishnakumar Pande, Parmeshwar Raut, Sangita Talmale, Dheeraj Patole and Chandrakant Hinge were prominently present.
Speaking further, Pardikar said, place for gardens is reserved in the new layouts. The NMC is developing green gymnasiums in these gardens where people can work out for fitness, he informed. In addition, with the initiative of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the playgrounds in the city will also be developed with all the facilities, he said.
In his introductory speech, Tanaji Vanve said efforts were on since last many years to develop a garden at this place. With the inauguration of this garden the objective of providing an open and green place for the residents has been achieved, he said.
A large number of local residents were present at the programme.
