The mineral water ATM will provide drinking water at affordable rates, which will be beneficial to the college students, local residents and travelers, said East Nagpur MLA Kirhsna Khopde.  He was speaking after inaugurating the water ATM developed and installed jointly by NMC and Josab India near KDK College in Nandanvan.

Leader of Opposition Tanaji Vanve, Transport Committee Chairman Jitendra alias Bunty Kukde,  Pratod Divya Dhurde, Nehru Nagar Zone Chairperson; Reeta Muley, Manisha Dhawade, Abhiruchi Rajgire, corporator Kanta Rarokar, Samita Chakole, Manisha Kothe, Shivaji Jagtap, Harish Raut, Vice-President of Josab India Dinesh Reddy, Divya Kubde and Sanjay Vaidya graced the occasion.

The locality has a number of visitors like students and travelers. However, these people have to buy water from small kiosks. The water ATM will solve this problem where people will get pure drinking water at affordable rates, Khopde said. Such ATMs should be set up in maximum localities of the city giving priority to the poor and labourers, Khopde said.

Giving information about the ATM, Kukde said on inserting 1 rupee coin, the ATM will deliver a glass of water. Similarly, two litres of water for Rs 2, 10 litres of water for Rs 10 and 20 litres of water for Rs 20 will be provided through the ATM. This will stop the malpractices by a number of companies, who cheat people promising pure drinking water.

Yogesh Kunge conducted the programme while Shivaji Jagtap proposed a vote of thanks. A large number of people attended the programme.
