The IC3 Regional Forum, the first of its kind, was hosted by Centre Point School, Katol Road in its campus on Saturday. The event was attended by the delegates of different universities along with Principals, Vice Principals, Career Counselor and students from schools of Nagpur Region. The students attended the 4 Sessions and interacted with University admission officials of 8 Universities including – St. George’s University, Grenada;Les Roches Global Hospitality Education; Flame University; Wayne State University; IE University; University of Ottawa; Ashoka University; Middlesex University, Dubai-UAE.
IC3Â endeavours to transform young lives globally through career & college counseling. IC3Â Regional Forums are a series of one day events conducted in high schools with the aim of having robust career counseling in every school. The event started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Ganesh Kohli, Founder President of IC3, Mukta Chatterjee Executive Director, Centre Point Group of Schools, Barkha Chellani, Commercial Pilot, Indigo Airlines, Shilpee Ganguly, Principal of Centre Point School, Katol Road, Renu Singh & Â Delnaaz Kapoor, Vice Principals, CPS Katol Road. This was followed by the Welcome Address by Shilpee Ganguly, Principal of Centre Point School, Katol Road.
Then the melodious crooners of CPS Katol Road took centre stage and captivated the audience with their mesmerizing musical performance in English of a hymn, a choral song, a duet and a song of yesteryears by class XI students. As the applause died down Barkha Chellani, an alumni of Centre Point School and now a Commercial Pilot with Indigo Airlines, delivered her keynote address explaining what it takes to become a pilot and the training undertaken before you are ‘fit to fly’ airplanes on ‘airways in the air’. She motivated the students sharing her personal experiences and telling them to take over & take action when things seem to be adverse.
Delnaaz Kapoor introduced the speaker for Session I, Ganesh Kohli, Founding President of IC3 and Chair for 2019 IC3Annual Conference to be held shortly in Mumbai. He pointed out that the young students after leaving school are like airplanes without navigation equipment. Hence an educator’s guidance is important. He spoke about ‘Unraveling Magic In Schools Through The Counseling Laboratory’. He spoke about the L2 Concept – having a Library of Information available in the Counseling Laboratory for the students. He complimented Centre Point School on the fabulous Alumnus & students. He also gave details of the IC3 Institute which conducts programmes for Teacher Career Counselors. He concluded with talking about the Immediate & Future Impact of setting up Counseling Labs.
Session II was conducted by Vineet Sabharwal, Director Admissions & Financial Head, Ashoka University. He equipped the audience with his views on ‘Identity of a Student’. He pointed out that there is high correlation between thoughts & destiny. He also gave the audience a list of must-read books.
Session III was conducted by  Mukta Chatterjee, Executive Director, CPS Group of Schools,  Delnaaz Kapoor Vice Principal and Career Counselor of CPS Katol Road,  Ruchi Tyagi, Career Counselor of CPS W’Nagar &  Suman Uniyal Career Counselor of CPS Dabha. Their session aptly titled ‘Paths for Pathway Planners’ focused on how Centre Point School felt the need and started Career Counselor for its students. They spoke about the challenges that the school faced and also about the Best practices being followed by CPS Group of Schools in Career Counseling.  Chatterjee concluded by expressing the need for networking among the city schools towards this very important aspect for students.
Session IV was conducted by Shamik Biswas, Head, Higher Education & Society, British Council. He spoke about Education Programmes in UK and briefed the audience about Universities in UK, admission criteria & eligibility.
Ganesh Kohli, Barkha Chellani along with Shamik Biswas also had parallel sessions with students of class XI of Centre Point Group of Schools. The officials of the 8 Universities had set up exhibits which the delegates from the city schools visited. The programme ended with the closing address by Mukta Chatterjee followed by a briefing by  Ganesh Kohli about the Annual IC32019 Conference, the IC3 Awards, IC3 Scholarship and the IC3 Institute. Delegates, parents and students of CPS Katol Road also visited the University Fair set up by the various Universities present at the occasion.
