Vidarbha created history by winning the team championship title for the first time in 47th Senior National Carrom Championship organised by All India Carrom Federation at Kudal in Sindhudurg district on Thursday.
In the finals, Vidarbha deeated Karnataka 2-1. In the first set, Irshad Ahhmad defeated B Rajesh 8-25, 22-17, 25-0.
In the second game, Nikhil Lokhande ecorded 25-7, 8-25, 25-15 win over M Binod and then in the doubles, Gul Khan- Nitesh Bansod pair lost to Shiv Kumar-Arun Kumar 13-25, 18-25.
The winning team comprises of Irshard Ahmad, Nikhil Lokhande, Nitesh Jambhulkar, Gul Khan, Nitesh Bansod and Mohnish Mishra. Nutan Paunikar was the coach and team manager.
