Dhanwate National College (DNC) won two cricket titles within one week.
In the Redbull Inter-College Campus Cricket Tournament they registered victory over Sindu Mahavidyalaya and retained the title.
Batting first, DNC scored 183 for six in 15 overs. Kushal Pimpakar scored highest 70. Sumit (32) and Changre (30) were the other contributors. Aman Mokhade and Yash Kadam scored 18 runs each.
In reply, Sindhu Mahavidyaaya were restricted at 168 for nine in 15 overs.
In BCAL Cricket Tournament organised by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law the DNC team defeated JCPE. Batting first after winning the toss, JCPE scored 116 all out in 19.3 overs. Powel Somkuwar claimed three wickets for DNC and he was well supported by Kushal Pimpalkar and Tanmay Kale who got two each.
In reply, riding on Pimpalkar’s half century (60), DNC achieved the target easily. Sumit Tiwari (19) and Mokhade (18) also batted well.
Pimpalwar was declared man-of-the-final. Mayor Nanda Jichkar distributed the prizes. Principal of DNC Dr PS Changole felicitated the players for winning two titles in the presence of Dr Devendra Wankhede, Prof. Nitin Chopde, Prof. Jayant Jichkar, Dr Subhash Dadhe and others. Â
