The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) administration paid rich tributes to Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Sawarkar on his 53rd death anniversary in the city on Tuesday.
Mayor Nanda Jichkar garlanded the statue of Sawarkar at Shankar Nagar Square and paid her respects. Â Chairman, Civil Committee Sanjay Banale, corporator Sunil Hiranwar, office-bearers of Swatantryaveer Sawarkar; Shirish Damle, Dr Ajay Kulkarni, Mukund Pachkhede, Mahadeorao Bajirao, Ajay Acharya, Prof Pramod Sovani, Dr Dinesh Khure, members of Hindu Mahasabha including Rajnit Joshi, Abhijit Joshi, Akshay Wagh, Ashish Mude, Anant Padhye, members of Swatantryaveer Sawarkar Vidya Niketan Prof Vijay Santge, Sanjay Thakre, Subhash Tingne, Chandrakant Kshirsagar, Sarjerao Galpat, Assistant Public Relations Officer; NMC; Pradip Khardanavis, Rajesh Wasnik and a large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
Chandrashekhar Azad to be remembered on on 27th
The NMC would observe martyrdom of Chandrashekhar Azad on February 27. Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar will garland the statue of Azad on Central Avenue and pay respects to the great freedom fighter.
