A new feather was recently added in the cap of The Achievers School, Nagpur when it was certified as green school among the top schools of India. The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) New Delhi, conducted a countrywide audit for Green Schools. The Achievers School, a Vanguard School of 21st Century, does not miss any opportunity to raise its children up to the call of time and sensitize them on Green School Practices.
The School curriculum and campus have been designed based on the Green building concept. It imbibes a thought process, which teaches the students to nurture the environment gifted by Mother Nature. Regular activities like making and selling of paper bags, making a compost pit, science model making on renewable energy, assemblies based on environment, honoring guest with saplings are an inseparable part of the school culture.
To fulfill the requirement of Green School Certificate audit, a team of students was selected to do the audit process and prepared a report covering a wide range of subjects like the quality of Air, water conservation, sanitation, renewable energy, agriculture, climate change, waste management, and soil conservation. Thus the entire work was undertaken with the guidance of Ashwini Bhawtnakar, School authorities and the energetic staff of the school. The efforts and awareness were together rewarded with Green School Certificate. The school felt honored to receive the certificate at the hands of CSE Director General, Sunita Narain at New Delhi.
The Director Academics and Principal, Priyadarshini Deoghare, Director of the school, Sapna Katiyar, and school coordinator, Sangeeta Shukla appreciated the team members for their efforts.
