Jichkar garlands statue of first mayor Barrister Wankhede
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) celebrated its 69th foundation day with great enthusiasm on Saturday. At a function organised at the main office of the NMC lawns in Civil Lines, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar and other dignitaries garlanded the statue of first mayor Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede.
NMC was established on March 2, 1968. It completed 68 years on Saturday. MLA Sudhakar Kohale, Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, former mayor Pravin Datke, Vijay Zalke of Water Supply Committee, Sports Committee Chiarman; Abhay Gotekar, senior corporator Pradeep Pohane, Dharampeth Zone Chariman; Pramod Kourati, Nehru Nagar Zone Chairperson; Rita Mule, Corporators Rupa Roy, Mangala Gaware, Amar Bagde, Sunil Hiranwar, Mahendra Dhanvijay, Bhagwan Mendhe, Rajendra Sonkusare, Sanjay Mahajan, Deepak Chaudhari, Sandeep Gawai, Kishore Jichkar, Additional Commissioners Ravindra Thakre and Ram Joshi, Chief Engineer Ulhas Davedwar, Superintending Engineer Manoj Talewar, Municipal Secretary Harish Dube, Assistant Commissioners Mahesh Dhamesha, Mahesh Marone, Raju Bhivgade, Subhash Jadhav and a large number of NMC officials and employees.
