Vidarbha Express charge given to women employees
Various programmes were organised by South Eastern Central Railways (SECR) to mark International Women’s day. Charge of train 12105/12106 Nagpur Gondia and Gondia Nagpur Vidarbha was completely handed over to women staff on Friday. Vandana Bansod was the train conductor, Kaushlya Sahu the guard while Sneha Sahare was the assistant loco pilot. The trains were flagged off by officials and employees with great enthusiasm. The ticket checking staff and ticket checking squad were also women in the train.
Moreover, Rimita Pal was the train conductor in Maharashtra Express from Nagpur to Gondia. The other works of ticket checking and ticket checking squad were also discharged by women employees.
In yet another initiative, the maintenance work of LHB coach was handed over to women employees at Gondia station. Similarly, the works of all the booking office, reservation counters, parcel office, ticket checking, enquiry counter, operation, C&W, cleanliness, etc was discharged by women employees at Itwari railway station.
At a seminar organised at DRM office to mark the occasion, SECR Divisional Railway Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay interacted with women employees and appreciated them for better performance. She urged them to perform in similar manner in future. She felicitated the outstanding performers with certificates on the occasion.
A large number of women employees along with representatives of various workers’ union were present on the occasion.
