Maharashtra downed Uttarakhand by 48 runs to start their campaign on winning note in National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament being organised by Wheelchair Cricket Association Maharashtra at Buddha Park, North Nagpur on Friday.
Earlier former mayor Atal Bahadur Singh, MLA Dr Milind Mane, Ashi Nagar zone chairperson Vandana Chandekar, social worker Namdeo Balgat, corporator Dinesh Yadav, Paul Divyang Welfare Foundation president Harshwardhan Khobragade, Nagesh Batde, Ashish Bothra, Sanjay Bhoskar, Rahul Lekurwale, Nutan, Durgesh Pande, Umredkar, Jitendra Ghodeswa, and others graced the inaugural function.
Along with Maharashtra, the teams from Uttarakhand, Delhi and Gujarat are also participating in the tournament. Batting first Maharashtra scored 167 in 15 overs. In reply, Uttarakhand could able to score 119. In the second match Delhi scored 156 for four in 15 overs. In reply Uttarakhand missed the target by four runs.
