‘Brahmanaad’ an early morning musical event was organised by South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) on Sunday in city. Renowned sitarist, Ustad Ershad Khan and budding classical vocalist Dr Renuka Indukar mesmerised the crowd with their melodies.
The event commenced by lighting of the lamp at the hands of Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Mohite, Dr Sadhna Shiledar, Director SCZCC Dr Deepak Kirwadkar, Deputy Director SCZCC, Mohan Parkhi, along with Acharaya Vivek and Programme Officer, Deepak Kulkarni.
Dr Renuka Indukar performed Sajan Mai Kaise Kahu Ri, Naina Bhar Ayo Ri, Choom Channa Bichua Baje, Bhanak Suni Awan ki and Abira Gulal in raag Lalit. Dr Renuka is a disciple of Vidushi Arti Ankalikar and Dr Sadhna Shiledar. She accompanied by Ram Khadse on tabla and Shrikant Pise on harmonium.
Utsad Ershad Khan gave an excellent performance on sitar. He started the recital of sitar with Bilasarkani Todi, which was followed by Swarchit Bandish, Bhairavi, Savariya Re! Kaisa Jadu, Aao Aao Nagariya Hamar Suni Padi Dagariya and Chaap Tilak Sab Chini. He was accompanied by Sandesh Popatkar on the tabla.
