South Eastern Central Railways (SECR) in the month of February earned revenue of Rs 19.36 crore from sale of 33.20 lakh tickets, which was an increase of 5.45 per cent in its income compared to last year during the same period.
In addition, SECR earned Rs 65 lakh from parcel booking, 22.32 crore from goods transport, 3.65 lakh from catering and Rs 4.28 lakh from parking.
Similarly, till the end of February the Nagpur Division registered 38,490 cases of travelling without ticket, and carrying luggage without proper booking and earned earned Rs 98 lakh towards penalty. The drive was launched by the SECRR officials under the guidance of Senior Divisional Commissioner Officer; K V Ramana and Divisional Railway Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyaya with co-operation from Railway Protection Force.
