The aeronautical department of Priyadarshini College of Engineering, run by the Lokmanya Tilak Janakalyan Education Society, organsied a two-day national convention and competition ‘Vaimanika 2019’ to highlight scope and development of aviation industry.
The programme was inaugurated by Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, Air Marshal RKS Shera.
Air Vice-Marshal AR Chitnis, Shreerang Saoji, Chairperson of the society Dr Satish Chaturvedi, Secretary Abha Chaturvedi, Director Dushyant Chaturvedi, Director Abhijit Deshmukh, Principal Dr Mahendra Singh, Vice-Principal Dr Girish Mehta and others were the special guest on the occasion.
As many as 800 students took part in the event.
During the two-day event Project Contest, Poster Presentation, Paper Presentation etc. were organised. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Air marshal Shera said that in the recent years scope in the aviation sector has increased. With the development of technology, the need for engineers and experts too has increased. The young mind will play an important role in shaping the future and there is a wide scope in this field of technology and other areas. “Youth should do everything possible to prove themselves in the near future and need to be aware of the scope in this sector,†he added.
Dr. Satish Chaturvedi said that the aeronautics provides a great opportunity for civil and military aircraft, MROs and aircraft manufacturing careers.
Dr. Mahendra Singh delivered introductory speech. Organiser, Dr. Girish Mehta said that the aeronautical branch is growing at a great speed and it is necessary to create awareness about it. Students should be aware of the scope in the field of research, construction of air craft, etc.
Prof. Mahore, Prof. Patil, Prof. Nandy, Prof. Raut, Prof. Kritika, Prof. Priyanka worked hard for the success of programme. Prof. Anand Matghare proposed the vote of thanks.
