Bank of India (BOI) defeated State Bank of India by 35 runs in the final of the Inter-Bank Cricket (‘A’ Division Institution) Tounament, conducted by the Bankers’ Sports Council, at the Central Railway Ajni ground here on Wednesday.
BOI posted a strong total of 147 for 6 in 20 overs. Opener Shukla smashed 46 to provide his team a flying start. After Shukla’s departure, Prajesh Prakash (23) and Shishir Lambe (22) boosted team’s total. Skipper Paresh Sutane and Akshay Fadnavis contributed 12 runs each.
In reply SBI were restricted to 112 for 9. Gokhale played a fighting knock of 34. Umesh Shastri was the most successful bowler with 4 wickets conceding just 14 runs. Shishir Lambe chipped in with 3 for 25. It was BOI’s third successive Inter-Bank cricket title.
