The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday paid rich tributes to legendary poet Suresh Bhatt on his death anniversary.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Ram Joshi garlanded the statue of Bhatt at Suresh Bhatt auditorium in Reshimbag. A programme or recitation of Bhatt’s poems was held on the occasion.
Along with Joshi, Education Officer Preeti Mishrikotkar, Health Officer Sarita Kamdar, Sports Officer Naresh Savitul, manager of the auditorium Pradipkumar Tumbde and Arts Teacher of NMC School Kamlakar Manmode were present on the occasion.
Bhatt’s daughter Vishakha Bhatt Mahajan had expressed desire that his poems Elgar and Bhimvandana should be recited. Accordingly, Tumbde recited Elgar while Manmode recited Bhimvandana and paid their tributes.
Sudhir Koramkar, Vilas Chitalwar, Parmanand Lonare, Balwant Gajbe, Vinay Kamble, Chetan Satpute and others were present on the occasion.
