Opening batsman Kedar Jagtap scored a fabulous century as Combined District XI defeated Nagpur Gymkhana by 102 runs in Guzder League ‘B’ Division Cricket Tournament organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association at Citi Gymkhana ground here on Friday.
Batting first, Combine Dist XI piled up 370 all out in 50 overs. Opening batsman Jagtap slammed 126 in 115 balls hitting 16 boundaries and one sixer. Middle order batsman Nagraj Jawale missed his century by just four runs. His knock was studded with 12 boundaries and two sixes. Sarvesh Kale contributed 44 hitting six boundaries. For Nagpur Gymkhana Amit Hoshing claimed three wickets for 52 runs. Sagar Bale and Mayank Tiwari were chipped in with two each.
In reply, Nagpur Gymkhana could able to score 268 for nine in 50 overs. The openers Abhijit Waghmare (76) and Manan Joshi (62) gave flying start to Nagpur Gymkhana but other batsmen miserable failed.
For Combined Dist XI, Akshay Sharma (3 for 51) was the pick of the bowlers. He was well supported by Deepak Jangid and ceutnrion Kedar Jagtap who claimed two wickets each.
