Police have arrested two more accused including the kingpin of the fake student scam. With this the total number of accused arrested has increased to five. The Jaripatka police had busted a racket which used to send impostors in place of original candidates to take Higher Secondary School Certificate and Secondary School Certificate exams of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
Police were looking after Zubairulla Khan and Nitin Ugrecha ever since it busted the gang and nabbed three people.
Sources said, Zubair was detained by cops on March 13 night. However, he was formally arrested after long grilling. Zubair could not give satisfactory reply to the questions raised by cops.
Police have recovered answersheets from his possession. Nitin’s name surfaced during grilling. He was subsequently arrested on March 15. Many answersheets were also recovered from him. A diary was also recovered from his possession. Both the accused were produced before the local court on Friday which sent them to police custody.
