Vidarbha Industries Association’s (VIA’s) Agro and Rural Development Forum organised a programme on Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Organic Food on Friday at VIA.
Om Jajodia, Chairman, Agro and Rural Development Forum, VIA said if you want to be healthy there should be fresh air, water and healthy food. But today the air is polluted, water is polluted and food is also polluted and to come out of this we have to go for organic.
Gauri Sarin, Founder Director, Bhumijaa, a national platform for organic agripreneurs spoke about potential of organic food entrepreneurship for Maharashtra and Vidarbha.
She also informed about Bhumijaa B2B exchange activity to facilitate buy-sell of organic product nationally and the launch of living without medicine, a platform for creating consumer awareness on organic, healthy and conscious eating. Bhumijaa announced a seven-week health challenge and asked VIA to collaborate for this, as well as support its activities in Nagpur, Vidarbha in promoting organic farmers market and building a minimum of 10 product value chains for traditional food through foodpreneurship FPO’s and SHG’s. She said that she strongly believes that, healthy food is the next wave an entrepreneurship for women and growth and the potential is to grow 500 agropreneurs in the region for domestic consumption and export. Bhumijaa will be soon launching association of Agaropreneurs nationally.
VIA President Atul Pande, said that VIA was always ready to promote entrepreneurship in organic products.
Shachi Mallik, convenor, Agro and Rural Development Forum said, we will continue the efforts for healthy leaving without medicine and also organise awareness programmes in this regard.

The programme was attended by more than 100 entrepreneurs of the region.
