The Annual day of Nephrology Society Nagpur was celebrated on Sunday, at Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur. This was an extended celebration of “World Kidney Day”, which falls on second Thursday of March every year.
Member of Parliament, Padmashri Dr Vikas Mahatme, was the chief guest, whereas, MLA Dr Milind Mane and renowned Nephrologist, from Mumbai, Dr Kumud Mehta were the guests of honour. The program started with a welcome speech of President Nephrology Society Nagpur, Dr Sameer Chaubey .
A book, entitled, “Essentials of Evidence Based Medicine, principles and practice”, penned by Dr. V.L. Gupta , an eminent Nephrologist from Nagpur was released at hands of chief guest, Dr. Mahatme . Dr Mahatme emphasized the need of practice of evidence based medicine by giving interesting examples, and appreciated the efforts of author, Dr. V.L. Gupta.
An interactive website of Nagpur Nephrology Society was launched at hands of the chief guest, Dr Milind Mane. Dr. Mane in his speech, appreciated the progress and the developments in health care scenario, and emphasized to do more to improve health care delivery.
Prestigious Dr B. S. Chaubey, oration was delivered by, Dr. Kumud Mehta from Mumbai. The topic was, “ Transition of Kidney diseases from childhood to adulthood”.
Eminent Nephrologist from Nagpur, Dr. D.S. Ookalkar was felicitated with Dr H R Salkar Professional Excellence Award. He talked on, “Kidney Health for All”.
There was guest lecture, by Dr.Valentine Lobo from Pune on “Spectrum of HUS”, followed by lectures on, “Evidence based Medicine in today’s era”, by Dr. V.L. Gupta, and UTI in paediatric population by Dr S Achanta.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Secretary Nagpur Nephrology Society, Dr. Manish Balwani, Dr.Rajshree Yadav, and Dr. Vishal Ramtake compared the program.
About 200 copies of the released book were distributed to delegates who attended the program.
