Students of Jhulelal Institute of Technology’s Mechanical Engineering brought laurels to the colleges after bagging the first prize in a project competition which was recently held at Radhikatai Pandav College of Engineering, Nagpur.
The theme of the project was “Design and Development of Solar Power System for E-Rikshawâ€. The project deals with the development of solar powered electric auto-rickshaws as an alternative to conventional auto rickshaws. The development of solar electric vehicles, hybridizing conventional vehicles with solar energy proves to be energy efficient and also contribute to reduction in the carbon emission.
The project was developed by Vimla Bhagat, Prafull Derkar, Harish Bijewar, Sahil Phalke, Pratik Kalaskar, Jitandra Chatap students of final year, Mechanical Engineering Department under the guidance of Prof. Rahul Waghmare.
Along with Chairman SSCT, Mahesh Sadhwani, Director Technical, Promod Pampatwar, Director HR and Administration, Madhavi Wairagade, Principal, Dr. Narendra Bawane, and Vice-Principal, Dr. D. Bhowmick, Head (ME),Prof. Mohan Shirbhate lauded the students for their achievement.
