Candidate from Nagpur-Kamptee LS seat to file papers on Monday
Union Minister for Road Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari arrived at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur on Saturday – first time after being nominated as the BJP candidate for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls from Nagpur-Kamptee Lok Sabha constituency.
Thousands of BJP workers and leaders had gathered at the airport to welcome their leader shouting slogans and cheering him. The BJP stalwart contesting the elections for second consecutive time from the same constituency is learnt to file his nomination papers on Monday.
The mood in the party workers is upbeat ever since the poll schedule was announced on March 10 and it was certain that this time too, the former Guardian Minister of the district would contest the elections. His victory is considered to be certain looking at his popularity, the works he has done during the last five years and most importantly the relations he enjoys among the leaders across all the parties.
The Congress on the other hand has fielded Nana Patole against Gadkari where the former has expressed confidence of winning the elections. Interestingly, neither Gadkari nor Patole have criticised each other on public platform. On the contrary, Gadkari had extended his blessings to Patole.
