The Social Security Branch of the police busted a sex racket in Ganeshpeth and arrested four persons in this connection including a woman. The police rescued two girls, who were forced into prostitution business.
According to information, the police got a tip off that a sex racket was being operated at Phoenix Wellness Centre, shop number 121, Empress Mall in Ganeshpeth area. The police then raided the place and arrested Faiyyaz Sheikh, Manish Lanjewar, Derreck Manchdo and Tanvi Chotliya and registered offences under relevant sections against them.
The police rescued two girls from the spot. One of them is from Nepal while other is from Bhilai, the police informed. Further investigations are on.
Youth arrested for attempt to murder
Jaripatka police arrested one Karan alias Kanna Vinod Patil (20), resident of Mukundrao Ambedkar Nagar for trying to kill Gaurav alias Sonu Nitin Nitnaware (22), resident of Gautam Nagar near Buddha Vihar, Jaripatka.
According to police, the duo had old enmity. To avenge the old dispute, Karan allegedly attacked Gaurav with knife and iron rod on his head and neck. Gaurav sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Vaishali Mohan Masra, (34), resident of Lumbininagar, Mecosabagh lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police in this regard. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered an offence under section 307 of the IPC and arrested Karan.
Cops crack murder mystery within hours, 2 arrested
The Unit 4 of Crime Branch of the city cracked a murder mystery within 12 hours of the incident and arrested two persons in this connection.
According to police, body of Kalu Kaitwas (50) was found with throat slit and legs tied in a well at Plot number 36R, Fulmati Layout, Ajni. It was a challenging case for the police as there were neither clues nor any intention clear about the murder.
The police then intensified their informers’ network and learnt that accused Badal Vasantrao Pradhan (24), an auto driver and resident of Plot No 36R Fulmati Layout, Ajni and Prashil Suresh Dukre (28), also resident of Plot No 36R, Fulmati Layout Ajni and an auto driver were involved in the crime.
The cops detained the duo. During the interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime saying there was a verbal duel between them and the deceased over a petty issue. Getting angry over this the two killed slit Kaitwas’s throat on and with a view to destroy the evidence tied his legs and threw the body in the well.
The police after arresting the duo have registered an offence. Further investigations are on.
