A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death in Bhilgaon area of Nagpur early Monday morning following a dispute linked to an old rivalry. The incident occurred near a cowshed close to the Zilla Parishad Primary School, and a case has been registered at Yashodhara Nagar Police Station under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Maharashtra Police Act.
The deceased, identified as Farukh alias Sonu Chuti, son of Amin Sheikh, sustained fatal injuries after being attacked with a sharp weapon. The complaint was filed by Mohammad Mustafa alias Golu World Isa Ansari (28), a resident of Parvati Nagar near Aniket Kirana Store, under Kalamna Police Station limits.
According to the police report, the incident took place between 1:00 am and 1:45 am on May 19. At the time, Farukh, the complainant, and a few friends were sitting near Siddhant Chaudhary’s cowshed in Bhilgaon when the accused, Sunil Sarangpure, a resident of Aajri Majri in Nagpur, arrived with five to six accomplices.
An argument broke out between Farukh and Sarangpure over a previous dispute. The verbal altercation escalated quickly, and Sarangpure allegedly attacked Farukh with a sharp knife, inflicting serious injuries that led to his death.
Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered an offence under Sections 103(1), 189(2), 190, and 191(3) of the BNS, along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. As of now, none of the accused have been apprehended, and further investigation is ongoing.
