Dr Dilip Ghosh, distinguished Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology-Virology) of city-based ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (CCRI), Nagpur has been selected for prestigious Prof. J.F. Dastur Memorial award (2019) of Indian Phytopathological Society, New Delhi. This is in recognition of outstanding contributions made by Dr Ghosh in research, technology development, applications and leadership in Plant Pathology.
Executive committee of the Society, in its recent annual meeting held at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh has selected him for this important award. A fellow of four different scientific society of India, Dr Ghosh earlier worked as visiting scientist in University of Florida (USA) during 2000 and 2010. He also extended his professional service as International Consultant of FAO of the United Nations in Nepal for two months.
Dr Ghosh had the special honour to deliver lead lectures in many international events held in China, Brazil, USA, Thailand, Vietnam, Bhutan, Nepal etc. Dr Ghosh has more than fifty research publications in reputed international and national journals and co-authored two books on Citrus Plant Protection.
Dr Ghosh is also known for his inspired scientific leadership and is instrumental in mentoring number of young research scholars worked in Molecular Plant Virology Lab of CCRI (Nagpur) during last over two decades.
Few of his past research scholars are now well settled in USA to continue their further research activities. Dr Dilip Ghosh will be felicitated and awarded with the prestigious Prof. J.F. Dastur Memorial award (2019) in the International Symposium on Plant Pathology to be held in New Delhi in December this year.
