Maharashtra achieved third place in the 30th Senior National Korfball Championship organised by Haryana Korfball Association on the premises of Maharshi Dayanand Vidyapeeth.
Host Haryana emerged winner defeating Jammu and Kashmir in the final. In the semi-final, Maharashtra suffered a close defeat at the hands of defending champion Haryana. In the third place match, Maharashtra defeated Himachal Pradesh and won the trophy.
The Maharashtra team was represented by Ketan Dugad, Sandesh Pawar, Avinash Ahirsinge, Pranav Pomane, Digvijay Atole, Ketan Bhapkar, Abhishek Kulkarni, Suraj Kadam, Sharayu Jagtap, Vishakha Palande, Pooja Pandhre, Sneha Patel, Apoorva Mehta, Prajakta Jathar, Dipti Parkale, Kajal Nikalje.
Swapnil Pachghare and Pawar were the coaches whereas Smita Pawar was the manager. Secretary of Maharashtra Korfball Association Pravin Manwatkar and treasurer Ajay Sontakke have congratulated the players.
