Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) to conduct the Youth (U-16) Inter-Club District Basketball Championship from April 16.
The championship for boys and girls born on or after 1.1.2003 will be played at the Nagpur Amateur Sports Association (NASA) courts at Surendra Nagar.
From this selection tournament, the 12-member Nagpur District teams in both the boys and girls’ category will be selected for the state championship. Matches will be played in the league cum knock out format.
All the affiliated units of the NDBA are required to confirm their entries on their official letterhead signed by their club president or secretary on before April 12, 2019.
While confirming their teams for the District meet all the units are required to submit the annual affiliation fees of Rs 2000 for the year 2019-2020. Along with the affiliation fees the clubs are also required to submit the Entry Fees of Rs 1000 per team on or before April 12.
Teams can be confirmed with Technical Committees Chairman of the NDBA Amit Sampat (9881073377) and with the Treasurer of the District Body Nitin Patwardhan (9422101375).
From this District championship the Nagpur District teams will participate in the 36th Youth Inter-District Maharashtra State Basketball Championship. The state selection meet organized by the Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA) will be held at the KDS Shanbhag Vidyalaya in Satara from May 2 to 6. Maharashtra teams will be selected for the Youth Nationals from the Satara tournament.
During the State championship, a Referee’s Clinic will also be conducted followed by the Written and Practical Examinations. Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) will also send their upcoming referees/officials for the State Examination and the District body will bear all the travelling expenses of Nagpur referees informed secretary NDBA Bhavesh Kuchanwar.
The Nagpur Officials who are willing to appear for the state examination will be selected on the basis of their performance during the District meet starting at NASA from April 16.
