“Good Friday”a day of fast and prayer. Catholics of the orange city assembled in their respective churches, joining millions of Christians across the world in remembering the sacrifice and crusifiction of the son of God for our sins.
As St Paul would write to his early Christians ‘He loved me and gave himself up for me’.
‌The city Catholics today observe mourning and fast.Churches in the city took out procession ‘way of the cross’ or station of the cross’ symbolising a part of Jesus passion and death.
‌Procession was also taken out by five Catholic school in the city, S.F.F school, St. Joseph’s convent, St. John’s school , St. Michael school and Providence Girls High School.
‌The processing began from 7 am to 10 am. Students of the schools while walking along the streets in prayer carrying wooden cross and enacted the station.
‌
The procession marks the journey of Jesus with a cross on his shoulder from the house of Pilate in Jerusalem where Jesus crusifiction took place, according to the Bible.
‌Therefore, Good Friday is a highly spiritual and ritualistic day for Catholics
