The State government has decided to start admission process to entry to Std XI in the first week of June. The admission process would be online and unlike previous year the application form would not be cumbersome. Sources in the education department said a system would be developed so that aspiring students can apply for admission in Std XI in science, commerce or arts stream by filing only one admission form.
Students would be able to choose junior college. For this he/she would have to give names of 10 institutes in a prescribed order, which would be based upon their priority to the institute. This means that a junior college in which they want admission should have to be kept on first place followed by alternative options.
The State education department has also made some positive improvements in the admission process. Sources said, officials have learnt a lesson from the last year’s controversy. A plea was filed before the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court last year alleging irregularity in the online admission process. To avoid such disputes again, reforms have been made by the education department.
The admission process would start in the first week of June. In the Zero round, admission through management, in-house and minority quota would be given as per the prescribed norms. All the information related to admission would be uploaded on the website of the education department. After Zero Round, admission to vacant posts would start.
Overall the education department is in no mood to attract any controversy this year. Hence, efforts are being made to streamline the admission process and make it hassle-free.
