Alert MSF jawans avert big mishapÂ
A fire broke out in garbage dump of Dhobi Ghat area of Government Medical College and Hospital aka medical here on Tuesday. The sudden fire that broke out at 12: 30 pm put the Medical authorities on the toes. Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) japans showed alertness and checked the fire to spread further.
The fire service department was informed at 12:40 pm but the fire tenders reached there after 45 minutes. Till the fire tenders reached, the MSF jawans had doused the flame in more than half of the affected area. The cause of the fire was stated to be an unknown person lit the fire in garbage dump.
Incidents of fire had happened in the Medical premises in the past. About three years ago, two wheelers of students parked near girls hostel No. 2 caught fire and 10 two wheelers were gutted. Later, a car parked in the courtyard of Dr Mukesh Waghmare’s quarter caught fire and gutted. Later, some unidentified persons burnt the two wheelers parked near girl’s hostel.
Last year fire broke out in a garbage dump near dean office premises.
On Tuesday, some miscreant lit fire in the garbage dump of Dhobi Ghat and that turned devastating. According to report, in the space between Ward No. 49 of medicine department and Dhobi Ghat, big bushes have come up and the place is always littered with leaves and garbage.
Seeing the fire MSF jawans rushed to the spot and broke the branches of the trees to douse the leaping flame. Fire service department was also informed. MSF Jawans started to douse the fire from all corners and they also succeeded in their mission. Fire tenders also reached the spot and doused the fire.
Under the direction of MSF’ s senior security officer KG Padvi and security observer Shankar Tupe, MSF jawans Ankush Khanjhode, Sagar Akotkhane, Narendra Wankhede, Jafar Kasim Sheikh and Vikas Chavan helped control the fire.
