Nagpur Obstetric and Gynaecological Society conducted Healthy Pregnancy Workshop on Sunday, April 28, at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur.
President, NOGS, Dr Priyanka Kamble welcomed the delegates. Dr Sushmita Mukherjee from Indore explained the luteal phase defect which causes miscarriages and is a nightmare for a mother. Dr Ashish Kale from Pune highlighted the various aspects of avoiding the miscarriages and giving a healthy baby to a mother. Dr Ashish said that “a preterm delivery is possible. As in India, the rate of preterm delivery is 3.5 lakhsâ€.
Incidences and Screening strategies were highlighted by Dr Manish Baheti while Dr Swati Bhave spoke on prevalence and prediction of preterm. Dr Dipti Kiratkar spoke on how to diagnose it, while Dr Papia Bhattacharya discussed the various modalities of management of preterm labor.
The role of progesterone in managing preterm labor was elaborated by Dr Moushmi Tadas. Dr Ashok Shukla from Mumbai spoke on medicolegal cases of infertility and pregnancy. He also emphasized on the importance of taking consent for each procedure.
President NOGS, Dr Kamble spoke on the importance of caution, care and cure for each patient while Secretary NOGS, Dr Kshama Kedar threw light on the importance of care during pregnancy and avoidance of preterm labor.
A clinical meeting was conducted by Dr Rashmi Bhaisare wherein the postgraduate students presented interesting clinical cases on the occasion.
The programme was conducted by Dr Manisha Dhanorkar and Dr Bhavana Humne. The programme was attended by large number of gynaecologists.
