A glowing ceremony for achievers of International Award for Young People was conducted recently, at Centre Point School, Katol Road.
Fifty two Bronze Medal winners and Six Silver Medal achievers received their awards in the presence of National Director, IAYP, India, Kapil Bhalla, Head of Program, IAYP, India Bivujit Mukhote, Director, Centre Point Group of Schools, Dr. Jai Singh Rajwade, Executive Director, Centre Point Group of Schools, Mukta Chatterjee, Former Principal, CPS Katol Road, Kana Roy Chaudhuri, Principal, CPS Katol Road, Shilpee Ganguly along with Vice Principals, teachers and parents of the awardees.
After lighting of the traditional lamp and the formal welcoming of the guests, the programme started with an effective rendition by Aman Ojha of the poem ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling. Adwika Saraf and Prakriti Sharma spoke about the 4 sections of the IAYP Programme including Skill, Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey which the achievers accomplished successfully. The dancers and singers from among the awardees put up an appreciable performance. The singers sang the IAYP song composed and set to music by Chaitanya Kanoria, one of the teachers incharge of the IAYP activities in CPS Katol Road.
The IAYP programme initiated in 2017 in CPS Katol Road saw its 1st batch of awardees in 2018. This year 6 Silver Medal achievers from classes X & XII successfully completed their IAYP tasks balancing it with their preparation and completion of the Board exams.
Dr. Jai Singh Rajwade, an IAYP awardee himself, congratulated the achievers and impressed upon them that life’s challenges could be faced by the skills acquired in the IAYP programme. He said that it helps in adding value to their academics.
Kapil Bhalla spoke about the IAYP Programme. He announced that Centre Point School is among the top 20 schools from across the country conducting the IAYP programme. Bivujit Mukhote motivated students and congratulated the achievers. Srishti Sahni one of the awardees, compered the programme successfully guided by the teachers incharge of the IAYP Programme in school including Nibedita Roy, Sophia Patel, Chaitanya Kanoria and Roshan Chaudhury. The programme ended with the rendition of the National anthem.
