The Railway Protection Force (RPF) teams of South East Central Railway (SECR) on Thursday conducted joint raids at four spots in Kamptee tehsil and nabbed four travel agents red-handed while selling premium tatkal tickets at higher prices, against illegal sale of railway e-tickets. RPF team seized valuables worth Rs 2.75 lakh during the raid along with tickets and electronic gadgets.
Sanjay Ishwarlal Chainani (27) owner of Balaji Services, Kati Oli (Kamptee), Mohammad Afzal son of Mohammad Aslam Rabbani (32) owner of Star Services (Kamptee), Lucky alias Narendra Jaiswal (25) owner of Skynet Services (Parshivni) and Sohel Shakil Ansari (31) (Kamptee) were arrested in the connections.
While addressing the press conference on Friday, the Divisional Security Commissioner (DSC) SECR Ashutosh Pandey said that, “These agents used fake IRCTC accounts to buy a number of premium and tatkal tickets which were later sold at higher prices. The RPF is going through the data of seized computers. However, to avoid any uncertainty, the accused used to format their hard disc in two to four months. We are planning to rope in the team of IT experts to recover the dataâ€
The RPF intelligence wing, is keeping a close watch on the illegal sell of e-tickets and RPF team will initiate another major drive in the span of next 7 to 10 days, assured the DSC.
