A meeting was held in the wake of the death of two sisters who lost their lives in a road mishap due to the ongoing construction work of Pardi flyover. Union minister Nitin Gadkari has expressed his displeasure over the delay of the work.
NMC Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar, Former Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde, Standing Committee Chairman Pradeep Pohane, former mayor senior corporator Praveen Datteke, Narendra (Ballya) Borkar, corporator Deepak Wadibhasme had organised a meeting to discuss the issue of the delay in ongoing construction work of Pardi flyover, on Monday.
Originally there was no mention of land acquisition on this route from Hotel Gomti to Octroi Naka Pardi. Nitin Gadkari said that the officials should speed up the movement of the flyover by giving priority to the work on this route first.
Additional Commissioner Ravindra Thakre, Assistant Commissioner (General Administration Department) Mahesh Dhama, Assistant Director (Urban) Pramod Gawande, Executive Engineer Girish Wasnik, Executive Engineer (Slum) Rajendra Rahte, Ameen Akhtar, Assistant Commissioner Vijay Humen, Ashok Patil, Prakash Varade , Harish Raut, Manoj Agarwal and other highways and Metro officials were present.
In the meeting, NMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar also directed the authorities to complete the process of land acquisition in Kaliibagh Road, Bhandara Road, Pardi Road. A special cell has been entrusted under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner (General Administration Department) Mahesh Dhamcha.
The officials, who are responsible for the area of ​​land acquisition, have been given clear instruction to complete the work at its earliest by making it the priority and contacting the citizens in land acquisition and issuing the Registry regarding the same.
A meeting of the officials will be held every morning at the Commissioner’s House to avoid any irresponsibility and further delay in work. Commissioner, Abhijeet Bangar, has directed the concerned officials to co-ordinate with each other to accelerate this work and submit their daily report in the meeting.
Due to the work of the flyover of Pardi and the encroachment on the main road, citizens have to face traffic jam on that road on daily basis. This has created a threat to the lives of citizens. NMC has decided to take strict action against encroachment every day in this area.
Poclain and Tipper will be given by the National Highways Authority for encroachment action and the municipal officials will take action against the encroachment in the police custody.
