Latu Enterprises edged out Sumeet Agency by four runs to emerge champion in the seven-a-side floodlight tennis ball cricket tournament, organized by the Bhatiya Farms Lawn, which concluded here recently at the Manmohan ground, Ashok Nagar.
Opting to bat, Latu Enterprises scored 46 for the loss of three wickets in their stipulated five overs. Sanjay Dube was the highest scorer with 15 runs.
In reply, Sumeet Agency tried hard but was restricted to 42 for the loss of four wickets despite a fighting knock of 19 by Dhiraj Deshmukh.
The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 7,001, while the runners-up team got richer by Rs 5,001. In all, twelve teams participated in the tourney.
Sarabjeet Singh Bhatiya was the chief guest and distributed the prizes. Narendra Walde, Raju Chandekar, Paramjeet Singh, Sugat Lade, Rinku Kapoor, Sukhvant Khoker, Baban Shende, Avtar Singh Khoker, Pankaj Sawarkar, Balya Ujankar, Omkar Singh Rajput and Rajesh Choudhary were present on the occasion.
