The dreaded Navtapa continues to torture the citizens as mercury hits 47.5 degree Celsius
Chandrapur being the hottest city in the region with 47.8 degree Celsius followed by Nagpur with 47.5 degree Celsius. Nagpur recorded the hottest day of this summer on Tuesday. In 2013 on May 23 the highest temperature recorded was 47.9 degree celsius.
Meanwhile, Chandrapur was also the hottest place in the world, according to a weather forecast website ‘eldoradoweather’. The website stated Chandrapur at 47.8 degree Celsius was the hottest in the world followed by Jacobabad in Pakistan and Nagpur at 47.5 degree Celsius. Bramhapuri is also in the list at fifth place with maximum temperature of 46.9 degree Celsius.
Earlier IMD had forecasted that this year the summer will be quite intense and it seems the forecast has been proved right as the Nagpurians are facing serve heatwaves since last two days.
Due to the constant rise in the temperature, it is suggested that citizens should avoid being in the sun from 12 noon till 4 pm. Reportedly 9 people lost their lives to the scorching the heat.
It has become difficult to survive without the coolers and AC even for a minute in this hot weather. Even in the evening hours there is no relief from heatwaves.
