Hudkeshwar police have booked a 31-year-old man for reportedly raping a 22-year-old for the past six years with a fake marriage promise.
Cops have booked accused Nikhil Dinkar Pranjale, a resident of Ayodhyanagar near Sai Mandir under Sections 376, (2), (N), 506 and Sub-section 12 POCSO Act 2012.
According to police sources, Nikhil and the survivor were in relationship from 2013. Nikhil had lured the survivor who was 16 back then with a fake marriage promise and sexually exploiting her. However, when survivor approached Nikhil this year with marriage proposal, he turned blind eye towards her demand and started avoiding her calls and texts. Sensing something amiss survivor approached Hudkeshwar police station.
Rashly driven bike claims youth’s life in MIDC
A three month long probe by MIDC police into an incident of accidental death revealed that a drunken friend’s careless driving had led to the death of a 21-year-old youth on February 22 this year.
MIDC have booked accused Amol Gajanan Umale (22), a resident of Isasani under sections 279, 304 (A) of the IPC in this connection.
According to police sources, after meeting with mishap on February 19 this year, Sagar Ramesh Kalbande, a resident of Waghdhara road had succumbed to his injuries on February 22 at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital. Following the preliminary information, MIDC cops had registered a case of accidental death and started the proceedings.
However, during the investigation it came to fore that Sagar was riding pillion along with his friend while Amol was driving under the influence of liquor on the night of February 19. Suddenly Amol lost control and the vehicle skidded off the road leading to Sagar’s death.
Housebreaking in Beltarodi, valuables worth Rs 2.56 lakh stolen
Beltarodi police have booked some unidentified miscreants for allegedly sneaking into a locked house in Manish Nagar and decamped with Indian as well as foreign currency besides gold ornaments and a laptop to the tune of Rs 2.56 lakh when the family was out of town.
Cops have booked the unidentified burglars under sections 454, 457, 380 of the IPC.
According to police sources, a 35-year-old complainant Kathiravan Shrinivas Yadav along with his family had gone to Tamilnadu between May 15 and 29 this year. In the meantime some miscreants had gained entry by breaking in the latch of main door and iron grill and fled with a laptop besides the valuables kept in almirah. The burglary came to fore on Wednesday morning when Kathiravan returned home only to find his home in ransacked state. Subsequently, he alerted Beltarodi police.
Pratap Nagar police constable commits suicide
A police constable attached to Pratap Nagar police station committed suicide by hanging himself on Wednesday.
The deceased constable has been identified as Vikas Nilkanth Gudadhe (42)
According to police sources, Gudadhe was compelled to take this extreme step as he got fed-up of the harassment from his senior officer. Despite the fact, that no suicide note was found, nor his wife made such allegations.
According to police, Gudadhe was habitual drinker and was facing some family problems. On Monday, his wife told him not to go out and drink. She then went out for some purchases. Grabbing the opportunity, Vikas closed the door of his room from inside and hanged himself. When his wife returned, she was shocked to see Vikas hanging. Following which she alerted cops.
Man killed, 2 injured in mishap on Nagpur-Amravati road
A bike-born was killed and two others riding pillion sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between the motorcycle and a Tata Ace near Chameli Shivar, 2 kilometers from Kondhali, on Nagpur-Amravati road on Wednesday morning.
Kondhali Police have booked the driver Ganesh Anand Lande (25), a resident of Panjramendhi, under section 304 of the IPC in this connection.
The deceased Leeladhar Dnyaneshwar Satekar (35), a resident of Dudhala, was going towards Hingna to meet his relatives. His nephew Prathamesh Hiradkar and one more person were riding pillion.
After refueling his motorcycle near Chameli Shivar, he was moving towards Nagpur. The Tata Ace vehicle (MH-32/Q-8723) and Satekar’s motorcycle collided with each other.
