Iftar programs were organized at different places in the city under the auspices of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Nagpur. Members of other communities were also invited in these events to spread the message of brotherhood and communal harmony.
While highlighting the teachings of the Quran, Sajid Ahmed said that the holy month of Ramzan is not just a month of worship. It is a month of charity in which poor are given zakat. It is very necessary to pay obligatory zakat to purify your earning.
Ashraf Belum said that the Qur’an was descended in the month of Ramzan. Spending life according to the Qur’an and the prophet (pbuh) is the main purpose of Ramzan. Similar programmes were also held at Avishkar Colony and Gurudev Seva Mandal, Zingabai Takli. Professor Ayub Khan highlighted the significance of Ramzan and prayers on the occasion.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Nagpur Women’s unit organised an iftar party for at the Markaz-e-Islamic Hall, Teachers Colony, Bhankheda and Tajnagar at Manakpur. Women scholars also expressed their views in these programs.
One of the participants, Shalu Didi of Samadhan Nagar said that such gatherings are need of the hour to maintain peace and harmony in the society. Preeti Suraj Jugel said that such programmes are good for building relations. It also helps in eradicating the misconceptions prevailing about a particular community.
On this occasion, Shabnam Parvin said, “We are all created by Allah and he has ordered us to live with love, humanity and unity.â€Â Jamiatul Mominat’s alima Rumana Kausar said, “We should live with peace, goodwill and mutual love in the society. Allah has told us the path of humankind and love in the Qur’an. It teaches us the way to spend our life.â€
Jahida Ansari gave details of various initiatives undertaken by the organisation. City unit president Dr. Sabihah Khan highlighted the importance of Ramzan and its benefit on health. She also claimed that fasting during the month of Ramzan makes body and mind stronger. One should help poor and needy families in this holy month as much as possible. “We give Ramzan ration kit, zakat and many other help to poor families,†he added.
