An IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Raipur (6E708) was diverted to Nagpur last night due to bad weather conditions at Raipur. The flight was supposed to land at Swami Vivekanand Airport in Raipur on Thursday evening but due to bad weather, the flight was forced to land at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport Nagpur at around 5.51 pm.
In all 160 passengers were on-board the flight who were accommodated at the domestic arrival hall in Nagpur Airport nearly an hour after the flight landed at the Nagpur Airport.
It is learnt that IndiGo provided refreshments to passengers at the airport. Around 9.15 am, boarding passes were reissued to passengers after which they were asked to proceed towards SHA ground floor. Boarding started at 9.30 pm and the flight finally departed at around 10.30 pm.
Meanwhile, a SpiceJet flight number SG 3283 from Hyderabad to Jharsuguda (Odisha) was diverted to Nagpur due to bad weather in Odisha.
The flight landed at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at around 11.05 pm. It was a 72-seater ATR aircraft. The flight was parked at bay number 12 after the pilot refused to fly the plane citing that his flying hours have completed. It finally departed from Nagpur for Jharsuguda at 11.49 pm.
