Priyadarshini Bhagwati College of Engineering in association with the science and humanities department of the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University organised a daylong conference on chemistry. Various aspects related to the curriculum of chemistry (first and second semester) were discussed in detail during the conference.
Dean of science and humanities department of the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Dr GS Khandekar inaugurated the conference.
While addressing the students and faculty members of chemistry, Dr Khandekar said, curriculum should be changed in a way that it helps students in earning more knowledge and become more competitive. He also urged the teachers to ensure that changes are made in the curriculum to benefit the students. Teachers should dedicate their valuable time and share their experience and knowledge with the students.
Principal Dr AN Chaudhary in his address said the teachers play a pivotal role in implementing the changes made in the curriculum. He also urged the students to give equal weightage to all the subjects in the first year of BE (bachelor of engineering). He also said that the curriculum should be changed as per the All India Council of Technical Education ( AICTE) norms.
Convener of the conference Dr AR Chaudhary highlighted the objective and motive of the conference.
Former dean of engineering department and member of the board of studies of the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Dr MD Chaudhary also expressed his views on the occasion and highlighted the need for making changes in the curriculum.
In the group discussion Dr AV Bharti and Dr PR Ghote threw light on the changes made in the curriculum of chemistry as per the AICTE norms to make it more effective. Dr AR Gollar conducted the proceedings while Dr R Nandanwar proposed a vote of thanks. Dr A Â Haldar, Prof U Gaikwad, Prof S Bhande, Prof R Bhoyar, Prof A Sorte worked hard for the success of the conference.
