Kaore Guruji Sports Institute (KGSI) and Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA)Â made winning start in Inter-Club Under-23 Cricket Tournament organised by Reshimbagh Cricket Club at DD Nagar ground, here on Thursday.
In group ‘A’ league match, KGSI drubbed Sahas Club b 42 runs. Batting first KGSIÂ piled up 200 for six wickets in 28 overs. Owais Sheikh and Rutu Barde scored 44 runs each. For Sahas, Ojas Deshpande claimed three wickets for 23 runs.
In reply, Sahah were all out for 158 in 24.5 overs. Ramesh Verma (39) and Shardul Thakur (19) were the main scorers. For KGSI, Owais Sheikh was the most successful bowler as he got three wickets. Durgesh Gaidhhane and Om also bowled well and got two each.
In another match, NCA recorded 18-run victory over Mujumdar Cricket Club (MCC) . Batting first NCA scored 209 for eight in 28 overs. Darshan Patel slammed 84 sending the rivals bowlers on leather hunt. Lucky Thorat contributed 18. for MCC Prem got three wickets whereas Niraj Bobde and Sanid Patel were chipped in with two each.
In reply, MCC were all out for 113 in 23.5 overs. Niraj Bobde’s fighting 50-run knock went in vaon. For NCA, Tejas Thakre, Mayank Bhonsale, Saini and Chetan Verma got one wicket each.
