Nagpur Cricket Academy (NCA) defeated Kaore Guruji Sports Institute (KGSI) by eight wickets to storm into the final in Inter-Academy Under-23 Cricket Tournament at DD Nagar Vidyalaya ground, here on Saturday.
KGSI were all out for a paltry 66 in 13.3 overs. Not a single batsman succeeded in crossing the double digit. For NCA Tejas Thakre got four wickets while Mayank Bhake, Himanshu Dehankar and Himanshu Mukind took one each.
In reply, NCA achieved the target losing just two wickets in 8.2 overs. Manveer Singh Saini (28) and Himanshu Mukind (20) batted well. Lucky Thorat also played well and scored 12. For KGSI, Owais Sheiukh and Aditya Nimje took one wicket each. Saini was declared man-of-the-match.
In another match, Mujumdar Cricket Club drubbed Sahas Cricket Club by 121 runs. Batting first MCC piled up 260 in 29 overs. Smit Patel hogged the limelight by scoring 76 runs hitting 11 boundaries and three sixes. In reply, Sahas were all out for 139 runs in 19.2 overs. Satvik Koli (46), Ramesh Verma (34) and Akshay Mahant (32) tried their best but didn’t get support from another end. For MCC, Niraj Bobde was the most successful bowler as he took three wickets.
