This is a story of a boy from Orange City who has fought with many difficulties and has overcome the problems. Akshay Ghugare owner of “Two Brothers Shawarma†an eatery stall near VNIT main gate, is a live example of inspiration.
Often, we come across many unsung heroes in our day to day life. Here is a story of one such young entrepreneur who has started his own stall and gives one of the best Shawarmas in the City. Conquering over many obstacles in life, Akshay has come a long way.
Speaking about his life journey Akshay experienced many ups and downs at a very tender age of 24. While relishing his memories he said that “I am passionate about food, and I love cooking for people and serving them. I have done various jobs to fulfill my everyday needs and to survive in this competitive world. I literally drank “Ghat Ghat Ka Pani” during my stay in Mumbai while battling with depressionâ€.
I was pursuing Polytechnic from Raisoni College and during my academics, I use to party more and study less. Soon it started affecting my studies, which resulted in many backlogs in my final year due to which I went into a state of depression.
To overcome the state of depression I needed a fresh start and that’s how my journey in Mumbai began. There I got a job opportunity in film city as a set designer, things were going well but after 2 months I found it difficult to make a good pace in my job as my art director left the country for some official work.
After that, I decided to do multiple jobs as being only a set designer was not fulfilling my expectations. My roommate uses to talk about Shawarma (a simple yet a delicious dish made out of chicken covering various flavours stuffed in pita bread) and gradually my interest in this cuisine developed. Later I got an opportunity to work in a restaurant where I was introduced to this platter. There I learnt various recipes and helped in other preparations needed in the restaurant well.
It was then when something hit me and I decided to start my own food stall. Initially, I opened my own stall in Mumbai thrice but failed. I even relocated many times but was not getting the response from people and soon after moved back to Nagpur.
I asked for support from my family but they always hoped me to work in a reputed company and therefore refused to support me. However, I had different plans I wanted to start my own business so I researched about it, searched for a location, I asked my friends and family for help but again I only got assurance. I had to move out of my house as my dad is strict; I was alone but never thought of quitting on my dreams. I had to do all the preparations well before from cooking to the shopping of the raw products. This is what I have been enjoying and dreamed off.
Now after crossing all the hurdles in life, I have finally opened my small food stall by the name “Two Brothers Shawarma†near VNIT main gate with the support of my friends. The business is booming, people love the taste of Shawarma.
This is my story, but i want to tell everyone that ups and downs are part and parcel of life, all we can do is never back down from our dreams under any circumstances. One day you will achieve big in your life.
“For my parents I just want to say Sorry for all the trouble I had caused I am doing great in life and will never let you down”.
