“Prepare yourself every day. If you fail to prepare be prepared to failâ€, said the resource person S. N. Sahu. To make class room more interacting CBSE organised a two-day workshop in Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti on Capacity Building program on Classroom Management recently.
The resource person were Reena Dargan , Principal Ira International School, Butibori and S. N. Sahu, Principal, Podar International School, Besa. The workshop was attended by 65 teachers of well renowned school hailing from various CBSE schools of Nagpur.
The workshop focused on the key concern of Classroom Management with rise of effective teaching strategies. The resource person discussed and shared the best methods adopted for Classroom Management and how the best potential of students could be extracted by giving them congenial and friendly environment.
The workshop addressed questions giving teachers various practical eye opening strategies they could use for managing students physical and behaviour patterns. They also explained the latest strategies to manage the 21st century Classroom environment effectively. The workshop dealt with
- Seating plans for the classroom
- Teaching style i.e. authoritarian, authoritative, democratic and detached
- How to make rules for the classroom
- Difference between rules and routines
During the session lots of group discussion, role play, case studies and questionnaires were conducted among different school teachers to reinforce the concepts.
Resource persons emphasized that the quality of teacher student relationship is the keystone for all other aspects of classroom management. Various activities conducted during the session were interesting and provided a new insight to teachers.
Overall, the workshop was effective and beneficial for teachers and will surely help to manage our classrooms more effectively in a more disciplined way with better result.
