Kids are attracted to the puddles of water, which brings a little joy to their soul and a smile on their face. But these same puddles are a threat to their life as many of the puddles are directly made of over flooded manholes and canals. Such incidents can happen anywhere in an alley and even under the guidance of their parents. It is much riskier and saddening if all this happens without the knowledge of a caretaker.
With the first showers dropping by, many of the regularly used places of city are already affected. Parking lots, many of the streets and even school play grounds are seen flooded by enough water to halt a daily routine.
Flooded playgrounds at school are at high risk as the ratio of kids to look after is large to the number of teachers.
Such a primary school Gayatri Vidya Mandir, in Bharat Nagar is seen flooded in just one day of rain. The whole playground is under water and even the entrance to the school is blocked after the rain of June 2. Fortunately the classes are built on the higher grounds and are safe for the children. The school authorities are working on an alternate way according to which the students will be shifted to their secondary, English medium school. For now the management has dug canals to let go the possible amount of water into the nearby water bodies.
