Jai Sai Welfare Foundation is organising Amdar Foundation All-India FIDE Rating Chess Tournament at Hedgewar Smarak Reshimbagh from July 9 to 13.
Addressing media persons secretary of the foundation Sushant Jumle said that around 250 players are expected to participate in the tournament  and so far 180 including IM Rajesh, IM Ramnathan Balasubramaniam and FM Shailesh Dravid have confirmed the participation. Around 60 players from the Orange City will also vie for the top honours.
He said total prize money for the tournament is rs 6 lakh. the winner will get Rs 51,000. Cash prizes to top three for best veteran, best unrated, best female players will be given. There are total 64 cash prizes and 121 trophies.
The outstation players will be provided accommodation at MLA Hostel. IM Swapnil Bansod will be the chief arbiter and he will b assisted by Deepak Chavan. The entry fee per player will be Rs 3,000. There will be no entry free for GM, WGM, IM, WIM and above 2400 rating players.
Total nine rounds will be played and the first round will be played at 10.30 a.m. on July 9 after the inauguration. The prize distribution function will be held on July 13 at 3 p.m.
AICF vice-president Manoj Itkelwar, NDCA president Dilip Kamdar, secretary KK Barat and organising secretary Umesh Panbude have also extended their co-operation for the tournament.
