Dhyanchand Sports Academy (DSA) overcame Eagle Sports Cub 3-1 to win SRPF Challenge Cup Hockey Tournament at VHA ground, here on Monday.
DSA dominated the proceedings since the beginning. They scored three goals within a span of nine minutes and ensured big win in the first half itself. In the very third minute Aamid Khan drew the first blood on excellent field goal.
Three minutes later once again Khan sounded the board to increase the lead 2-0. In the ninth minute Faiz Khan made the equation 3-0. The margin would have more for DSA had their forwards not missed chances in the second half. In the 47th minute, Ashraf Khan scored the lonely goal for Eagle on penalty stroke.
The winners got Rs 7,000 and trophy while runners-up were awarded Rs 4,000. Commandant of Group 8 Pranay Ashok was the chief guest of prize distribution function. VHA official’s Dr AP Joshi, Pramod Jain, GM Pillay, DS Karunashankar, Radheshyam Sarda, Sunil Agrawal, Arif Khan, Atal Bahaduur Singh, Parvez Qureshi, Kunal Patil, IV Choudhary, Pramod Lokhande, PN Daware, Dilip Tarare and others were present on the occasion. Dharamraj Kanojia conducted the proceedings while Pramod jain proposed a vote of thanks.
